I've been learning "All I Really Want" by Alanis Morisette- here is a tone demo of the current sound. I'm not going for the sound on the record because I don't have a wah at the moment- but there is a nice vibe coming out of a flanger in its place.
First in the signal chain is the guitar- a 2022 Squier Strat. Stock Standard. Fenders record keeping on serial numbers needs development with these strats, but I think its the Taiwan factory rather than mainland China. Not sure if there's a difference in quality... its beyond my care factor. The pickup selector is in the middle position.
Then the signal goes into a Korg Pitchblack Tuner, followed by an overdrive, a delay, and a flanger before going to a clean amp.
A Mod Tone Dyno Drive:
A Boss Waza Craft DM-2W delay
A Boss BF-2 flanger
Then a HiWatt T20 tube amp. Clean channel- all the tone tweaking is done in the pedals. High reverb. High clean channel gain.
Recorded with a Sure SM57. Centre of the speaker, approx. 3 inches from the grille.
Sprinkled with fairy dust in Ableton. A compressor, a saturator, and EQ:
Here is the demo sound:
